ABOUT SAADI SHIRAZI
Iran has been a cradle of literature for centuries, producing poets of international renown. Among these luminaries, Saadi Shirazi stands out. His poetry has gained global popularity and acclaim.
Abu-Muhammad Muslih al-Din bin Abdallah Shirazi, known by his pen-name Saadi, was born in Shiraz around 1200 and passed away around 1292. As one of the most prominent Persian poets in Iran’s history, Saadi is celebrated for his contributions to the classical literary tradition. Persian scholars often refer to him as “The Master of Speech” or “The Wordsmith.”
Saadi’s influence extends beyond the Persian-speaking world; he is frequently quoted in Western traditions. His writings are esteemed not only for their literary quality but also for the profound social and moral insights they convey.
